Objective
Prodrive Technologies wanted to present their new set-top box platform for Intel on the CES in Las Vegas. They already had the innerparts of the STB and needed a design for the look and feel. I got a short briefing about the workings of the STB and a document with the technical specifications. The STB was fanless and therefore excellent heat management was crucial and the choice of color and material had a big impact.

Approach
After an explorative sketching session a few concepts were sketched in more detail. These were discussed with Prodrive's project manager and a set of four directions was chosen. More detailed renderings were made and the final concept was chosen. Prodrive made a mock-up prototype from the rendering that they could show on the CES.
